Project Overview
As Project Leader, Hardip led the engineering design team to deliver this award winning £35m new build facility. The Academy centred on Maths and Performing Arts, which directed the design of the new space.
The structural design consisted of a steel frame with concrete planks, with structurally insulated panels (SIPs) forming the building envelope.
The Challenge
The project demanded an engineering focus on challenges which included a contaminated brownfield site, designing foundations around a huge underground structure, working over a live public car park and addressing vibration in long span structures.
The project was featured in the BCSA and the Architects' Journal.
