Project Overview
As Project Leader, Hardip led the engineering design team in the delivery of this new £33m facility which helped regenerate the local area and provide a focal point for the community.
The Challenge
The site is located on the banks of the River Thames and is therefore sloped. The engineering solution took advantage of the natural characteristics of the land to deliver on-site underground rainwater storage and in the construction of the amphitheatre.
A brownfield site, the engineering team mapped the existing piles from the demolished building and mapped the location of the new piles to avoid clashes. The project was one of the early adopters of BIM, which helped reduce risk and ultimately saved cost for the client.
